背景

ビジネスの比喩表現として、医療・薬に関するメタファーがよく使われる
診断・予防・治療・副作用といった医療の枠組みは、ビジネスの問題発見から対処までのプロセスと相性が良い
ここでは、ビジネスで使える薬・医療メタファーの英語表現を、カテゴリ別に整理しておく

診断・鑑別診断は「何が本当の病因かを切り分ける」という意味、予後は「この先どうなるかの見立て」というニュアンスで使う。

原始予防は「リスク要因がそもそも生まれない環境を設計する」という、予防の中でも最も上流の考え方。

根治とその場しのぎ（痛み止め・応急処置）を区別する語彙がとても豊富。「今やっているのはpainkillerかcureか」を自問するのに便利な整理。

医原性（iatrogenic）は、治療行為そのものが害を生むという意味で、「良かれと思った施策が別の問題を引き起こす」場面にぴったり当てはまる。

半減期やプラセボ効果は、施策の効果がいつまで続くか、本当にその施策自体の効果なのかを議論するときに便利な語彙。

概念・注意喚起

silver bulletとpanaceaはほぼ同じ意味で、いずれも「そんな都合の良いものは無い」と釘を刺す文脈で使われることが多い。

免疫反応や炎症は、新しい施策やルールに対する組織側の抵抗・反発を表すのに使いやすい比喩。

まとめ

医療・薬のメタファーは、診断→予防→治療→検証→リスク管理という問題解決プロセスと相性が良く、ビジネスの文脈にもよく馴染む
特に、根本原因への対処（根治・structural fix）とその場しのぎの対処（対症療法・painkiller・stopgap）を区別する語彙が豊富
